Our role is to respond to the needs of the community and to deliver high quality health programs.
The Prevention Education and Research Unit (PERU) continues to be at the forefront of delivering innovative community and school-based health leadership programs for over two decades. Our vision is to work towards health equity through empowerment education.
We manage two award-winning, co-designed peer-led leadership programs, SALSA and Triple A. These programs are offered to high schools and are delivered either face to face or online. The programs provide students with a real life leadership opportunity.
- The SALSA program is designed to motivate students to increase physical activity and improve diet
- The Triple A program improves the health and wellbeing of students with asthma and reduces the likelihood of smoking
Both programs build leadership, teamwork and communication skills, while promoting health and well-being.
