Petards Defence is a UK-based engineering business founded in 1952, which is part of Petards Group Plc. It provides In-Service Support (ISSC) Contracts to the UK MOD and supplies a portfolio of its own products to a range of international customers.
The scope of works for its ISSCs is broad, covering C-IED training kits, aircraft Counter Measure Dispensing Systems (CMDS), secure radio systems, emergency radio systems and electronic warfare training aids. Products include arming assurance devices for aircraft payloads, electrical test cables, a range of Armoured Fighting Vehicle (AFV) engine management systems and digital radio systems.
Since 2019 Petards Defence has also marketed its own Combat Situational Awareness (CSA) systems for use on AFVs. It is currently exploring a range of Artificial Intelligence (AI) features to incorporate into its AFV CSA systems.
