We are the California Iota undergraduate chapter at UC Berkeley, founded in 2007 by Felix Wong and Tony Chen, with the sponsorship of Dr. Bernard Griego.
Through our passion and dedication towards excellence in the field of medicine, we have expanded tremendously since then, with hundreds of new members since our inception. Our alumni have been accepted and matriculated to prestigious programs at UCSF, Harvard, Columbia, USC, NYU, and more, and we pride ourselves on having an acceptance rate to medical schools much higher than the national and UC Berkeley averages.
Our active members are exceptionally hard working and academically focused, with an average GPA far above their major averages and the UC Berkeley average, many having multiple majors and minors. Our actives also balance challenging course loads with many professional activities such as work in research labs, consulting internships, doctor shadowing programs, and many more!
We also have an extremely active alumni network whose work has spanned across the world, pursuing careers both in as well as outside of healthcare.
