A 501(c)(3) disability nonprofit organization made to promote disability awareness and engagement in the community. Weekly meetings allow disabled children and adults to interact with one another through engaging activities and events, an opportunity that is often hindered by social barriers. I have expanded PHILIPS internationally, establishing six chapters in four countries, with more than 300 members and volunteers. This past year, PHILIPS raised more than $10k in private and corporate donations for the American Association of People with Disabilities. Although weekly meetings are now virtual due to the pandemic, PHILIPS continues to receive overwhelming support and recognition within the community. By emphasizing the value of empathy towards diverse people, I hope to contribute towards creating a more inclusive community for all.
