Virginia Ability is a business-to-business non-profit association focused on changing employment outcomes for people with disabilities. We Educate businesses on the proven benefits of hiring qualified individuals to their organizations and the community in which they do business, Cultivate business and community employment resource partnerships to connect workforce talent with job opportunities, and Empower businesses to make a positive and lasting impact on Virginia’s workforce and economy.
Employers must be engaged in and champion cutting-edge disability recruitment and hiring strategies, not as charity or marketing, but because it’s smart business.
History
The Virginia Business Leadership Network was established in 1994 as a branch of the US Business Leadership Network through the President’s Committee on the Employment of People With Disabilities. In July of 2019 we underwent our first major re-branding initiative with the intention of developing a new, differentiated identity. However, our core mission remains the same – to assist businesses in providing solutions for increasing workforce and workplace diversity by including people with disabilities.
