PiCC United (The Patient Involvement and Collaboration Community) is a global community dedicated to creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive space for patients, family members, advocates and experts, patient groups, leaders and organisations and many more to collaborate to drive meaningful change.
Our mission is to improve patient outcomes and make healthcare accessible by ensuring that the patient voice is at the heart of every conversation.
PiCC United was founded by MediPaCe, a leading patient engagement and research organisation and emerged from MediPaCe's collaboration with patients, voluntary organisations, the healthcare sector, pharmaceutical companies, academia, and regulators. Recognising common challenges that all parties faced when trying to include the patient perspective PiCC United was created as a solution and merged in 2024 with the patient organisation Patients Unite. This union strengthens our efforts to break down barriers and ensure that patients' voices are heard and have real impact.
Our unique community connects patients with industry members, academia and researchers all looking to better understand unmet patients’ needs and their journeys.
We actively promote collaboration between stakeholders, ensuring that patient perspectives and insights are incorporated into clinical trial design, drug development, and initiatives led by medical affairs and marketing teams.
Our work also includes:
- Insight generation - focus groups, advisory boards, and surveys etc.
- Training - to build confidence and skills, through to initiating patient engagement projects and advocating for patient rights.
- Education and workshops – to assist Patient Advisory Groups (PAGs) and industry partners with best practices for patient engagement.
