Pierre Vano is a design studio based in Brussels. We create everyday pieces for contemporary and small environments, with a strong focus on formal aesthetics.
Our intuition? Contemporary homes, especially in the cities, are smaller and smaller. This does not prevent people from wanting quality and long lasting furniture. The possibilities of moving are increased, which requires resistant objects that can be carried from one place to another.
Our solution is to imagine timeless pieces, where both the materials and the aesthetics are part of a sustainable approach. Components such as steel and aluminium will resist through time, and we expect the same from our formal and minimalist designs. The prototypes are put to test in our everyday life, in a city-based apartment of 60m2.
OUR STORY
Pierre Vano is a design studio created in 2017 by Pierre Vanobbergen. After a few years in architecture, Pierre decided to redirect his career path towards design and welding. In 2018, Eloïse Ngangura joined the studio. We form a couple at work but also in the everyday life. We met in 2014 in Risoul (France) and built our relationship around, among others, our love for applied arts. As a couple, we trust each other as well as we can be critical to one another. From the moment Pierre imagines the object to the end-product, there is a constant dialogue between us. And same goes each time Eloïse works at making the project grow.
Graduated from UCL/ISA Saint-Luc Tournai, Pierre Vanobbergen began creating and designing objects in 2017. Pierre left architecture & interior design to get as close as possible to the materials. He is now studying welding.
Eloïse Ngangura studied Visual and plastic arts at ESA Saint-Luc Bruxelles, followed by a master's degree in Cultural management in 2018. After her studies and along with her professional activity, Eloïse joined Pierre in his project.
