The University of Pittsburgh Department of Biomedical Informatics brings together a diverse group of faculty who are committed to improving biomedical research and clinical care through the application of innovative technologies. Currently funded projects explore areas such as genomic and proteomic data mining, natural language processing, machine learning, and biosurveillance. We offer a range of training experiences to accommodate diverse backgrounds and aspirations: Masters Degree (MS) in Biomedical Informatics Doctoral Degree (PhD) in Biomedical Information MS or PhD in Intelligent Systems - BMI Track MD/PhD in Biomedical Informatics Non-degree Postdoctoral Training Certificate in Biomedical Informatics Active participation in research and development is a key element of the educational experience.
