Established in 1944 at Lahore, pre-independent India, the University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS), Panjab University, Chandigarh, holds a distinguished position in shaping pharmacy education for nearly 80 years. With a visionary focus on becoming a global leader in pharmaceutical education and research, UIPS has garnered international recognition. Stanford University, USA, acknowledges eight UIPS faculty members among the top 2% scientists worldwide in Pharmacy & Pharmacology.
UIPS takes pride in its faculty's achievements, including several receiving the Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award, for exceptional contributions to their fields. The institute is the exclusive pharmacy institute in India assigned the UGC-NRC program.
