PLASyntH2 is a consortium of five plasma research groups (PLASMANT, PlasmaTech, PlaNaMed, ChemSIN and ChIPS) located in Belgium with complementary expertise in plasma chemistry, diagnostics and modelling.
H2 is one of the most promising substitutes for carbon‐based fuels, but its production is energy consuming and generates large amounts of CO2. A promising alternative that cancels these issues is plasma pyrolysis, which produces green hydrogen. However, a lack of fundamental understanding still exists, but this is where we come in play. In PLASyntH2, we aim to bridge important knowledge gaps in plasma pyrolysis of hydrocarbons to create a green energy source and valuable chemicals.
