UPEN is a network of organisations working together to strengthen the use of academic evidence in policymaking. UPEN members are UK universities, policy organisations, and third sector organisations.
UPEN offers a dedicated contact point for policymakers, and a collective response to requests for evidence. We organise knowledge exchange events with government, parliament, devolved bodies, and identify mechanisms to take forward specific projects.
UPEN also offers best practice examples, toolkits and guides on academic-policy engagement activities, and acts as a champion for this relatively new role within universities.
