Potentiometric Probes develops voltage-sensitive dye (VSD) technology for neuroscience and cardiac research. The company’s founders have a long history of developing VSDs and invented early classic VSDs such as Di-4-ANEPPS. But much has changed since the introduction of Di-4-ANEPPS (details below) and Potentiometric Probes is focused on providing researchers the best VSDs on the market in terms of signal-to-noise ratio, speed, stability, toxicity, among other factors. Potentiometric Probes was launched in 2017 to continue the dye development and distribution activities provided by Dr. Leslie Loew’s lab for many years. Improved Stark shift electrochromic probes as well as novel voltage sensors are both current research priorities. At the same time, the company is happy to serve new and existing customers in academia or the pharmaceutical/CRO industry.
