About Public Policy & International Affairs (PPIA) Fellowship Program
PPIA IS WHERE PUBLIC SERVICE LEADERSHIP BEGINS For over 40 years, the Public Policy & International Affairs Program (PPIA) has expanded access to the public policy and global affairs pipeline. Our belief is simple: society is stronger when public leaders reflect every voice and lived experience — especially those historically underrepresented. OUR MISSION PPIA prepares and propels the next generation of diverse public service leaders by investing in education, skills, exposure, and networks that lead to real civic impact. OUR PATHWAYS Junior Summer Institute (JSI): A fully-funded, seven-week graduate-level fellowship hosted at leading universities, equipping high-potential students with analytics, policy writing, and leadership foundations. NextGen Service Corps Summer Policy Academy: A three-week experience (starting in Washington, D.C.) that deepens applied policy skills and public service leadership. Public Service Weekends: Free 2–3 day policy immersions for any undergraduate curious about public service, hosted by universities nationwide. Public Service Expo: The national event where graduate schools, public agencies, nonprofits, employers, students, and alumni connect around careers in service. Virtual Graduate Fair: A free online fair linking undergraduates to graduate programs, internships, and early-career opportunities. Graduate School Consortium: 60+ graduate schools committed to expanding access, Including financial support opportunities for PPIA alumni. EXTENSIVE ALUMNI NETWORK Our alumni network is 4,000+ strong, a nationwide community opening doors, mentoring the next generation, and shaping policy across government, philanthropy, nonprofit, and global institutions. This is how we protect access. This is how we keep opportunity alive. This is how we strengthen the future of public service leadership.
