Prelude Dance Competition

Prelude's goal is to support the Dance Community with a competition focusing and showcasing local & regional hip-hop dance groups, dance companies, and the overall dance community. By training and preparing for this event, we hope to enrich, strengthen and improve an indivIdual dance and/or dance group. Prelude Dance Competition is committed and accountable in including and accepting dancers of all backgrounds—there will be no discrimination of race, ethnicity, sex, gender, age, religion, disability, socioeconomic status, and political beliefs. We will emphasize and encourage the education of dance history and culture, including but not limited to Hip-hop culture and other movements of the African diaspora. We aim to establish a safe environment through anti-racism, anti-othering and anti-abuse to protect the physical, mental, and emotional safety and health of competition participants. As an organization, there will be a long lasting commitment to evolve and adapt with the current social and political climate.
