WhyLens

‘Whylens’ is a Be The Change Project led by 3 TFI Delhi Fellows committed to co-create safe and nurturing classroom spaces for young girls and instill in them the lens of curiosity. The raison d'être for ‘Whylens’ is deeply rooted in the challenges faced by 131 of our students in an all-girls school in Sangam Vihar, Delhi, such as corporal punishment, bullying, and neglect in and beyond school. We found that our students lack the right vocabulary and tools to confront the overt and covert forms of violence. Violence against women is not a simple problem and does not have a quick fix. And only spreading awareness amongst our girls won’t suffice. Therefore, we have chosen to address this challenge holistically by engaging with all three key stakeholders in our students' education: students, teachers and parents.
