Prop Thtr

“Prop Thtr functions as an incubator for new and exciting talent as we expose our audiences and artists to fresh outlooks on life through the development of new and interdisciplinary performing arts work, particularly new plays and playwrights. We concentrate on stories that expand our perceptions of who we are as human beings. The Prop Thtr achieves its mission through the support and promotion of new works, the fresh examination of great and provocative literature, enthusiastic collaboration with established artists and theaters as well as the cultivation of emerging artists, technicians, craftspeople and others, both young and old. Prop Thtr is a charter member of the National New Play Network and The League of Chicago Theaters. Prop Thtr maintains a venue in which we produce and that serves to provide working facilities for, and partially subsidize through these facilities, resident companies that are in accord with our mission, as well as independently produce and co-curate shows that reflect our mission.
