PROTEMIC: EU MSCA Network for Protein Spectroscopy

PROTEMIC is an EU-funded MSCA Joint Doctoral Training Network that addresses critical gaps in dynamic protein analysis by integrating advanced spectroscopy and photonics technologies. The network focuses on mid-infrared spectroscopy, photothermal sensing, and photonic integration to enable in-situ, real-time monitoring of protein structural changes during dynamic reactions. Key innovations include interband cascade devices for extended mid-IR ranges, external cavity quantum cascade lasers for tunable spectroscopy, and integrated photonic systems for scalable, high-throughput sensing. PROTEMIC targets applications in drug delivery, protein quality control, and reaction monitoring, bridging the fields of physics, analytical chemistry, and biochemistry for pharmaceutical and biomanufacturing advancements.
