About Purgo Scientific

Purgo Scientific is a medical device company developing a novel method for targeted therapeutic drug delivery. While there are many applications for this method, the initial goal is to treat and prevent biofilm-related surgical site infections that compromise indwelling devices such as orthopedic implants. Targeted drug delivery against biofilms with local, high dose concentrations of antibiotic have a better chance at treating these infections than other therapies. In the United States alone, each year this problem affects as many as 300,000 people and costs the healthcare system up to $10 billion.
