Over 80% of all vision loss can be avoided or cured and in Indian scenario, Cataract contributes to close to 70% of treatable causes of blindness. Social determinants greatly affect vision loss and access to eye care.
Pushpagiri Vitreo Retina Institute (PVRI) is a non-profit, NABH recognized super specialty eye hospital headquartered in Secunderabad with a mission to provide affordable, high quality eye care to all WITH A NOT-FOR-PROFIT FOCUS in the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, India, for the past 16 years.
PVRI has a network of hospitals, including a centre of excellence in Secunderabad (Telangana state), a tertiary centre in Vizianagaram district (Andhra Pradesh's northern coastal area), and a super-specialized eye hospital in Kadapa district (the most backward district in the state of Andhra Pradesh).We perform over 30,000 eye surgeries per year across the centres, with more than 65 percent of surgeries being free of charge for the most disadvantaged sections of society.
