At Quick Connect Huddles, we are dedicated to fostering connection, reducing burnout, and enhancing esprit de corps (es-PREE deh KOR)—a combination of camaraderie, engagement, fulfillment, loyalty, passion, and meaning in work—within healthcare teams. Founded by Dr. Derrick Alger, a hospitalist and former nurse, we understand the unique pressures and emotional challenges faced by healthcare professionals. Our mission is to create a supportive environment where colleagues can connect meaningfully through our monthly huddles. Each huddle follows a structured "Read, Reflect, Connect" format, allowing team members to engage in thoughtful discussions that promote resilience and well-being. Why Connection Matters: - Connection matters in healthcare because it significantly reduces burnout and enhances well-being among healthcare professionals. - Research shows that physicians who experience higher levels of connection and support from their colleagues report lower levels of burnout and higher job satisfaction. With medical doctors being the current highest profession for suicide, the time is now to make changes. There is an urgent need for initiatives that foster meaningful connections and provide emotional support within healthcare environments.
