About Quit Centre
The 'National Quit Training and Resource Centre for Nicotine Cessation' ('Quit Centre') is a national best practice support service for health professionals. Quit Centre’s goal is to ensure Australian health professionals have the latest clinical information, resources and training on smoking and vaping cessation to support their patients. The comprehensive and practical resources and training found on the Quit Centre website are created by health professionals with extensive knowledge of smoking and vaping cessation. The resources and training are updated continually; informed by emerging research and insights from ongoing consultation with Quitline counsellors, general practitioners and pharmacists. The National Best Practice Support Service for Nicotine and Smoking Cessation is supported by funding from the Australian Government Department of Health, Disability and Ageing. Quit Centre is maintained by the Quit unit of Cancer Council Victoria. Quit Centre acknowledges with thanks the significant investment by VicHealth to create the foundational knowledge-base and online training platform, and the extensive and ongoing in kind support from Cancer Council Victoria.
