The Queen's Vertical Farming Team (QVFT) is the first post-secondary design team of its kind in Canada. Our mission is to develop a functional, small scale vertical farm from scratch. Drawing inspiration from the best current commercial practices, our goal is to gain a foothold as an innovator in a rapidly-expanding industry.
QVFT allows members of all disciplines to gain hands-on experience with food cultivation and increase their awareness of threats to the global food supply. Program-specific opportunities allow students to gain experience with biochemistry, plant science, computer-aided design, computer modelling, manufacturing, data analysis, and systems design. General hiring begins January 2020.
