Rab3i Platform

Who we are Rab3i is the Emirati word for “My Friends”. “Rab3i” is an inclusive buddying program that pairs People of Determination (POD) and volunteers, based on their shared interests. Rab3i, seeks to increase inclusion of People of Determination in the community and decrease the stigma towards them by: • Enabling People of Determination to enjoy the lifestyle of their choosing, • Enabling People of Determination to enjoy all the opportunities available in their community. Rab3i will also give an opportunity to the wider community to sharing their passions with each other and be able to fit their volunteering around their other commitments (Read more about us). How it works Rab3i is open to the entire Abu Dhabi community, both citizens and residents. All participants (people of determination and volunteers) will be over the age of 18. All volunteers will receive expert training and will be equipped with the right tools to support and enable them to safely enjoy the Rab3i experience Once applications are received from participating people of determination and volunteers, the Rab3i team will assess the applications to identify shared interests. Once the initial identification takes place and volunteer training is conducted, the Rab3i team will join the volunteer at the participating person of determination’s home for the first introduction. The buddies will be joined with the Rab3i team on the first outing to ensure it runs smoothly.
