RecHycle, an innovative research initiative by ArcelorMittal Belgium, aims to reduce CO2 emissions in the steel industry. We investigate green hydrogen and recycled metallurgical gases as alternatives to traditional coke and pulverized coal in blast furnaces. Key objectives: 🔬 Hydrogen utilization: Explore blast furnace operation using hydrogen and circular gases mix. ⚙️ Process optimization: Develop efficient, low-impact steel production designs. 🛡️ Material embrittlement risks: Assess and mitigate risks from hydrogen usage. 🧱 Ceramic feed-inlet: Innovate furnace designs for enhanced efficiency. 🌱 Life Cycle Analysis (LCA): Evaluate environmental benefits of the new process.
