We are a supportive platform from the British Ecological Society championing Racial & Ethnic Equality & Diversity in ecology and allied fields for individuals from under-represented & marginalised ethnicities. Our network aims to improve the equity and inclusivity of the environmental sector, which is the second least diverse sector in the UK.
We advise & consult organisations leading to a tangible impact.
We use the term “ecological” in the broadest sense; our members have a true variety of professional & personal backgrounds. We've got members from academia & industry, students at all stages of their careers & enthusiasts who simply want to learn more about the ways to enjoy our natural world. We are made up of plant biologists, marine biologists, geologists, zoologists, agriculturalists, conservationists, birdwatchers, environmental activists, climate scientists, researchers, science communicators, artists, wildlife filmmakers & so many more!
*The network is not open to individuals wishing to act as allies, but we’re keen to work with allies in creating positive change within the environment sector with our Effective Allyship workshop
