About Refugee Support Europe

Founded in 2016, Refugee Support Europe provides practical support for displaced people, fosters solidarity and advocates for systemic change. We bridge the critical gap between arrival and settlement through our dignified, choice-based system, offering essential goods in welcoming community spaces. Our advocacy is shaped by our on-the-ground work, demonstrating that a different kind of welcome is possible — one grounded in dignity, solidarity and community. Our mission is to provide dignified support to displaced people in times of urgent need. We envision a world where communities welcome refugees with dignity, solidarity and compassion. Our ultimate goal is to co-create a future where our support is no longer needed because society has embraced a culture of inclusion and care. Our values are dignity, community and solidarity: Our dignity-first approach ensures that every individual is treated as a person with agency, not as a statistic or a burden. Solidarity means looking across, never down. It’s about building authentic relationships and working together to challenge injustice and create change. Community means creating spaces where everyone feels welcome, heard and empowered to contribute. Our strength comes from acknowledging our compassion, empathy and collective power. Our approach is upheld and informed by three interconnecting pillars: Dignity Centres: We maintain Dignity Centres in areas with large refugee and/or asylum-seeking communities trapped in protracted emergencies, unable to rebuild their lives. Crisis response: We respond quickly to crises where our expertise in dignity-first distribution can be used to support displaced people on a short-term basis. Advocating for an alternative: We challenge the prevailing hostility towards displaced people through practical action to demonstrate the advantages of a welcome based on our values of dignity, solidarity and community.
