In 1911, 146 workers lost their lives in a tragic and avoidable fire at the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory in lower Manhattan.
In the ashes of the Triangle fire rose the modern labor movement. Now, all these years later, working people from around the nation are joining together to build a national memorial to those workers and to honor the legacy of reform their deaths inspired.

Despite additional engineering costs and the pandemic-related challenges of the past two years, we are in sight of a fall 2023 unveiling of the Memorial, which will rise nine stories high on the very building that housed the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory in Greenwich Village.
Funds still need to be raised to pay for the costs associated with building the Triangle Fire Memorial. Of course any donation is gratefully appreciated. Donations of $25,000 or more will be recognized on the Triangle Fire Memorial donor recognition plaque permanently affixed to the exterior of the building if the donation is made prior to August 2023.
