Human trafficking is the 2nd largest Criminal Industry in the world with India widely considered to be a global hub. According to a recent report by the Global Slavery Index, over 8 million people in India are victims of human trafficking. Over a million women and children fall prey to commercial sexual exploitation. Many victims are from poor rural areas and lured by traffickers with promises of good jobs, only to find themselves or their children forced to work in fields or brick kilns, enslaved in homes as domestic workers, or sold to brothels. We were established in the year 2000 by the Late Mr. Balkrishna Acharya & his wife Mrs. Triveni Acharya. Mrs Triveni Acharya, took over the reins in 2005 when her husband passed away in a car accident. Since then Rescue Foundation has rescued over 5000 girls and rehabilitated many more. Our efforts have led to us receiving numerous awards and accolades, namely the world of children Award in 2013 & 2105, the reebok human rights awards, while Mrs Acharya was felicitated by the president of India for the 100 women achievers award in 2016. Our goal is to significantly reduce the percentage of victims of human trafficking in Urban Cities We aim to continue on the path we have established ourselves on, where we continue to rescue victims of human trafficking, rehabilitate them so they can re-enter society, then help get them back to their families.
