About Resetting the Table
Resetting the Table (RTT) equips leaders from all corners of American life to counter toxic polarization and build a shared democracy and future. Founded in 2014, RTT is recognized as offering one of the nation's leading frameworks and toolkits for productive engagement across divides. Weaving together decades of expertise in mediation, international conflict resolution, trauma therapy, and social research, RTT delivers world class training, forums for courageous dialogue, and depolarizing media content in partnership with key strategic audiences for outsized impact. RTT's programs have directly reached more than 80,000 Americans in 49 states — including award-winning TV writers and journalists; influential higher education administrators and faith leaders; and other societal multipliers positioned to make far-reaching culture change. CORE ACTIVITIES: - Training & Capacity-Building: Equipping leaders with evidence-based skills and tools that yield bridge-building mindsets, actions, and norms. - Convening & Facilitation: Designing forums and offering skilled facilitation for breakthroughs in trust, relationship, and problem-solving across strong differences of background and viewpoint. - Depolarizing Media & Mass Storytelling: Catalyzing stories that cultivate empathy, model constructive conflict, ignite collective imagination, and reach millions through TV, film, and other media. RTT engages a rare cross-section of ideological, racial, and regional partners and sees doing so as critical to building a shared future for our country and communities. Pre/post and longitudinal surveys show significant, sustained shifts in leaders’ ability to tackle polarized divisions.
