About RGPR - open-source ground-penetrating radar (GPR) data processing

We are a non-profit organisation developing a free and open-source software package for ground-penetrating radar (GPR) data processing: RGPR RGPR is hosted on GitHub at https://github.com/emanuelhuber/RGPR. RGPR is written in R, a high-level programming language for statistical computing and graphics that is freely available under the GNU General Public License and runs on Linux, Windows and MacOS. R is a highly versatile and extensible language to which C, C++ and Fortran code can be linked and run. Furthermore, the R developer community is very active and more than 10'000 packages are hosted on the official global package repository CRAN (Comprehensive R Archive Network, https://cran.r-project.org). In 2017, R was ranked as the sixth top programming language by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. We were very honoured and grateful to receive the Best Poster Award at the 17th International Conference on Ground-penetrating Radar in Rapperswil for our poster "RGPR - an open-source package to process and visualize GPR data". We thank the jury committee for sensing the huge potential of our open-source software package. We hope it will make GPR data processing available to a larger public, promote reproducible research, and stimulate the development of new methods. We are especially grateful to a few amazing people whose support greatly helped to move this project forward. A special thanks goes to: Prof. Peter Huggenberger (University of Basel) who encouraged the development of the software package. This recognition of our efforts represents a great source of encouragement that will keep our enthusiasm up in our future work.
