Risk know-how

Risk know-how helps communities navigate risk information. All over the world people have conversations about risks with each other. Having Risk know-how helps them assess claims and data about risk, and weigh up what should be done. This initiative supports people who find themselves at the heart of such discussions, and who are involved in helping others to navigate risk information – Risk know-how practitioners. On our webpage, you can find useful resources and case studies, as well as the first Risk know-how Framework, developed with practitioners and experts, setting out the key risk concepts needed to understand risk. The Risk know-how initiative is run by teams at Sense about Science, a UK-based charity which advocates for evidence-based policy and discussions, and the Institute for the Public Understanding of Risk in Singapore, with funding from the Lloyd’s Register Foundation.
