When WWII occurred and the US Government took Japanese-Americans on the west coast away from their homes for Internment Camps, Robert and Masako Nii decided to flee to Denver, CO in order to live out of their car in a public park with their 3 small children in order to continue to live as free citizens. This spurred their desire to ensure the safety of their family's freedom, and they began Robert & Son, Inc. in order to acquire property and living space that could not be taken away from them.
