We offer engineering consultancy services to the oil and gas, aerospace, defence, wind, geothermal and industrial sectors. We are proactive in the investigation of existing and emerging technologies required as the world moves towards carbon neutrality.
Our mission is to engineer value for our clients by optimizing their current products or developing brand new technology from concept to manufacture and testing of full-scale prototypes. We can work in close conjunction with the engineering team of the client, or more independently. There are 3 core components to Rockatek's service:
1. Design.
2D/3D CAD service Autodesk Inventor 2023 and Solidworks Professional 2020, complex assemblies, drawings and all necessary PDM config control. Our CAD designers have years of experience in top level design of complex downhole technology and systems.
2. Analysis.
First principle approach supported by ANSYS FEA and CFD modelling.
Discrete analysis packages to complex multi component non-linear analyses.
3. Testing.
Extensive test capability and large-scale system test capability in-house. Environmental – Up to 200°C and 200 MPa (30,000 psi). Tension & Compression – Up to 10,000 kN (2.2 million pounds) Torsion – Up to 120 kNm (90,000 lb.ft). Power – Up to 400kW hydraulic power available Vibration & Shock – 40kN @ 5Hz to 3kHz and 2kN @ 5Hz to 5kHz. Combined loading – Rotary motion and torque can be combined with multi-position side-load and extreme axial load to simulate drilling conditions for geothermal and oil and gas directional drilling assemblies.
We use testing to screen clients’ products, replicate failure modes, verify new designs and to support and refine computer simulations. We can also design and supply bespoke test rigs to client specifications.
