ROHO Agave

ROHO Agave produces high quality agave spirit from the hearts of Agave sisalana plants in Kenya. The sisal are sourced through a partnership with a large scale fabric manufacturer that removes the leaves of the plant and currently has no use for the heart of the plant. These hearts are cooked underground for up to 5 days which breaks down the plant starches into fermentable sugars. The fibres of the cooked hearts are crushed by hand and the juices are extracted and fermented for up to 10 days. The fermented juice is then distilled twice before blending and bottling. The 100% agave spirit bottles are produced in an Export Processing Zone in Kilifi and prepared for export to the UK.
