TRACC Borneo (Tropical Research and Conservation Centre) is a leading marine conservation NGO based in Sabah, Malaysia, dedicated to restoring and protecting coral reef ecosystems through science-driven action, community empowerment, and hands-on education. Our mission is to rebuild the ocean's future—one reef at a time. At TRACC, we believe in innovative, sustainable, and inclusive solutions to ocean degradation. We're proud to be one of the first organisations in the world to deploy reverse-engineered 3D printed reef structures in partnership with Reef Design Lab, blending cutting-edge technology with natural ecosystem design to rebuild coral habitat with precision and scale. These structures mimic natural reef forms, enabling faster coral colonisation and greater biodiversity recovery. Our on-the-ground work spans coral propagation and transplantation, artificial reef deployment, turtle conservation, and marine debris removal, creating tangible change for both marine life and local communities. We focus on protecting endangered species, rebuilding fish populations, and restoring the ecological balance vital to a healthy marine environment. We offer immersive volunteer and internship programs for individuals passionate about marine biology, conservation science, and sustainability. Participants work alongside experienced marine scientists and conservationists, gaining practical skills and making a lasting impact. Through research, innovation, and education, TRACC Borneo is growing a new generation of reef guardians committed to the planet’s most critical ecosystems.
