RUSSIAN RIVER ALLIANCE

Russian River Alliance is a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization formed in 2012 due to the loss of the Russian River Redevelopment and is comprised of local community organizations serving the Lower Russian River communities of Rio Nido, Guerneville, Villa Grande, Monte Rio, to Cazadero. We are a small grassroots organization. The Alliance is dedicated to sharing ideas and enhancing the quality of life for residents, businesses, and tourists. As an unincorporated area, the Alliance works closely with our County government and law enforcement agencies to address local issues of concern such as promoting equality, improving air quality, blight remediation, beautification efforts, vagrancy, drug and crime issues, economic development, support for our businesses, programs for community residents, and road and other infrastructure improvements. Today, the Russian River Alliance finds ourselves at the forefront of climate change, becoming first responders in times of ever increasing environmental disasters. In the last six years, while dealing with a flood, fire, pandemic, and a fire during the pandemic, the Russian River Alliance has become the first responder for immediate relief and changing lives providing emergency assistance through one-time grants, gift cards for immediate food relief, and rental assistance. Our focus is to keep the families from our communities from becoming homeless. Our river is dying and with it, our local communities. If we do not act now to effect change, it will be lost and so will our forests. The Alliance firmly believes that the solution to effecting change is through our local communities and businesses, their own actions, and education so that they are better informed to vote for policies and politicians who believe that climate change is real, and more importantly work to create the change that is needed.
