Sancus Capital Group, which is based in La Jolla, California, was founded in 2017 by Justin Crane, a successful independent private equity sponsor. As an independent private equity sponsor, Sancus partners with institutional investors on a deal-by-deal basis. Our network of institutional investor relationships includes a select group of like-minded family offices, SBIC funds, asset managers, insurance companies, as well as private equity firms with committed funds. Since we do not have a committed fund of our own, we have the luxury of being able to exercise discipline and patience by pursuing only select investment opportunities that we find particularly compelling. In ancient Roman religion, Sancus was a god of trust, honesty, and oaths. Mr. Crane selected "Sancus" as the firm's name because it symbolizes the firm's ideals and values - authenticity, high integrity, transparency, collaboration, consistency, trustworthiness as well as honoring our word.
