Savitreechya Lekee Foundation has been established with a primary goal of achieving Gender Parity in all levels and domains of Indian politics, so that we can have a truly representative leadership. Along this north star, we aim to uplift the overall decision-making power of women in all domains of their lives, work, and as representatives. Instead of only focusing on politically active women, we focus on making politics available to each woman from every possible background, and cultivate their capacity to help them reach a level playing field, from where they can make independent, empowered decisions with Sarvodaya and Antyodaya as their chief goal. With a firm belief in the power of collective action, we aim to build solidarity among women and men among themselves. We recognise that the oppression in Indian society is not only aimed along gender lines, and that it rather shows up along the differences in class, caste, creed, sexuality, neurodiversity, social nonconfirmativity, among others. That is why we proud ourselves in being truly intersectional. We believe that having an understanding of people diffferent from oneself is the first step towards having empathy towards them, and to share solidarity with them, and that representation can only come out only after these preconditions are met. SLF aims to address this need, so that Indian people can have truly representative representatives. We organise workshops, build capacity, help women identify the political actions they take regularly in their lives and encourage them to build on it, collaborate with NGOs, civil societies, progressive political parties and entities, people on ground. We also facilitate linkage between multiple stakeholders, under projects that align with with goals and values, and consult organisations on gender, diversity, equity, inclusion.
