Mission: SAVMA is a professional association promoting excellence in the field of volunteer program management, providing educational programs, leadership, information and resources, networking opportunities and support to the volunteer community throughout Southern Arizona. Who We Are Unquestionably with more than 100 members from 40 organizations, SAVMA is experiencing a period of growth. Members come from a wide range of organizations including; education, health, human services, housing, animal welfare, environment, religious and social benefit organizations. Member experience in the field ranges from those who are new to the field to those who have more than 40 years of experience in volunteer management. Values Volunteerism Respect Integrity Professionalism Ethics First, individual members adhere to the SAVMA Code of Ethics. Second, Organizational Memberships take the additional step to adopt the Code of Ethics annually at a board meeting. Additionally, individuals with their CVA designation from the Council of Certified Volunteer Administrators, further adhere to the Professional Ethics in Volunteer Administration. Professional Competencies SAVMA promotes the “7 Core Competencies of Volunteer Administration”, published by the Council for Certification in Volunteer Administration. The CVA Competency Framework clarifies and defines the full range of tasks involved in the professional management and leadership of volunteer engagement. “Volunteers are a unique human resource for furthering an organization’s mission and vision.
