Swasth Bharat Prerak Program

The Swasth Bharat Preraks (National Nutrition Mission Fellows), highly qualified young professionals, will provide inputs of strategy, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of the National Nutrition Mission in the Districts. With degrees ranging from law to engineering under their belt, these young ‘Preraks’ will spend their time in some of India’s least development districts, drawing up plans for addressing malnutrition and improving nutritional outcomes, and reviewing village-wise plans for better access to health and nutrition, while working closely with district magistrates or collectors. To strengthen the capacity of districts by providing them technical and management support as they work towards achieving superior Nutrition outcomes (elimination of anemia, malnutrition free India), the Swasth Bharat Preraks initiative has been launched by the Ministry of Women and Child Development and the Tata Trusts. A very unique change India’s fortunes when it comes to wellness and nutrition.
