SCAN Panaji - Goa 684/Goa/2013 Vision - A society which deals justly with children in difficult circumstances leading to a brighter, deserving and crime-free future for the coming generations. Mission - To be the primary support for children in difficult circumstances and provide a holistic approach to integrate them with society. SCAN is a voluntary organization established in response to the growing violation of child rights in the State of Goa. Adv. Pinho was a recipient of the National Award for Child Welfare 2014, from the Hon’ble President of India, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee In recognition of the efforts in the field of child welfare. Our Key Programs - Support Children Who Are Victims Of Abuse: SCAN has assisted over 550 victims of abuse in the State. Children are referred to SCAN by different authorities for rehabilitation through education, training's, or job placements. SCAN believes in restoring the rights and dignity of this vulnerable segment of our population by being a primary support for children in difficult circumstances. Support Children Who Are In Conflict With The Law: More than 500 children in conflict with the law were provided socio-legal assistance by SCAN. The Juvenile Justice Boards of Goa are assisted by us in rehabilitating and socially integrating these children. Raise Awareness And Educate About Child Rights: SCAN conducts awareness and training programs in educational institutions across the state as well as for professionals such as the police, doctors, paralegal volunteers, forensic experts, etc. Being a voluntary organization, funds for the important work carried out by SCAN are dependent on contributions from well-wishers and supporters. We believe the work carried on by SCAN is an important and crucial contribution to having a society free of child abuse and crime. A better society which our future generations deserve!
