The Spacecraft Dynamics Control and Navigation Laboratory (SDCNLab), established in 2006 by Professor Jinjun Shan, leads the way in cutting-edge research in dynamics, control and navigation of space/autonomous systems. The current research areas in SDCNLab include autonomous systems (UAVs, UGVs, and self-driving cars), multi-agent systems, smart materials and structures, active vibration control, space instrumentation, spacecraft dynamics and control. Our mission is to contribute to the present and future advancement of technology while maintaining expertise in design, analysis, simulation, and experimentation. Our research endeavors benefit from the support of government agencies, universities, and industry partners, reaffirming our dedication to innovation. SDCNLab is home to the York Research Facility for Autonomous Unmanned Vehicles (YU-AUV), which consists of a 16-camera OptiTrack motion capture system, 11 quadrotors, 4 ground robots, and 6 self-driving model cars. This world-class research facility provides a unique, vibrant and multidisciplinary learning and training environment.
