At SDL Pellets, we’re dedicated to providing an unparalleled range of locally produced, bagged and blown wood pellets throughout the UK along with kiln dried logs. We offer Bulk, Blown and Bagged loads for delivery. In 2022 we installed a state-of-the-art, bespoke pellet line at SDL-HQ. This enables us to produce the highest-quality En-plus A1 and BSL certified wood pellets, we're known for. We are committed to sustainable business practices, with all our wood pellets being made from British-harvested wood and all being produced in the UK. All the wood we use to produce the wood pellets comes from waste products of tree surgeons and woodland site clearances. Meaning none of the trees were harvested with the intention of making wood pellets. Using produce compressed from SDL sawmills by-products they offer a low-carbon and eco-friendly alternative to traditional fossil fuels. The biomass boiler that we use produces all the heat and power required to manufacture the wood pellets and any additional electricity goes back into the grid. Any waste heat produced from the boiler is used to dry the sawdust. We maximise energy usage and minimise wastage as much as possible. At SDL Pellets we are committed to optimising the tree harvesting cycle, ensuring it’s sustainable and supports full-circle wood pellet production. We work with generational forest and timber growers to sustainably fell trees that have been specifically grown for this purpose. Our team harvest the trees that have been grown for this purpose which are then processed by SDL Sawmills, and we leave the site clear for replanting. None of the trees go to waste and are used to produce bark, wood chip, or sawmilled timber for use in construction and other industries.
