Student Ethics and Constitution Commission

The Student Ethics and Constitution Commission is the regulatory body of the Student Government at IIT Madras. It was formed to serve the students of IIT Madras by exercising powers of judicial review, regulation, accountability and corrective measures to aid the cause of a more harmonious union of students at IIT Madras, guided by the principles of liberty, equality and justice under the constitution. SECC plays the pivotal role in ensuring that the IITM Students’ Constitution of IIT Madras is enforced on ground and provides channels for students to resolve conflicts, in matters under purview of the Constitution, in a procedural manner. It equips them to formally frame and argue issues on their merits, and to seek enforceable orders.
