Second Echelon Capital expands economic opportunity for military veterans through entrepreneurship. We empower veterans acquiring businesses by providing long-term and patient capital, M&A support, training, advisory and mentorship. An echelon formation is a diagonal military arrangement, with each unit positioned behind and to the side of the one ahead. The second echelon refers to reserve forces supporting the front line — ready to reinforce, sustain momentum, or exploit breakthroughs. In our framework, veteran entrepreneurs form the first echelon. Second Echelon exists to support them in their journey. Second Echelon Capital was launched out of the University of Chicago's Leadership and Society Initiative by a veteran turned entrepreneur who believes in the power of entrepreneurship to change lives and impact communities.
