The cement industry contributes to 8% of all human CO2 emissions globally, that is, 3 billion tonnes of CO2 every year.
Seratech is a sustainable cement replacement: we have changed the composition of the cement in concrete so that it contains a lower proportion of Portland cement, by virtue of it being replaced by silica SCM. Silica is produced in the Seratech process using industrial flue gases and the naturally occurring mineral olivine, this process neutralises the CO2 emissions from concrete production. If we reduce the proportion of Portland cement in our concrete further, this process has the potential to be carbon negative.
Our goal is for humanity to continue using concrete as we have done for millennia but without the impacts that concrete is currently having on the environment. Using Seratech cement will eliminate CO2 emissions from concrete and make this goal achievable.
