Established in Dec 2017 and based in Beijing-China, SHANNON.AI received its seed-round and A-round funding from Sequoia Capital (红杉资本). The founder Dr.Jiwei Li (李纪为) is the 1st person in the history of CS at Stanford to obtain a Ph.D. degree in 3 years. His research deals with Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning, with a focus on deep learning. With a Google Scholar Citation > 2,700, he is one of the most cited young scholars in the NLP field. He was awarded 2018 Forbes China “30 under 30”. He was a former researcher at Facebook FAIR and MSR.
