She Served AU | Veteran-Led Advocacy & Support for Women in Defence She Served AU is a purpose-driven advocacy and support network amplifying the voices of women who have served in the Australian Defence Force. Born from lived experience and driven by the need for justice, accountability, and healing, She Served AU is where truth meets action. We exist to support those who have been silenced, sidelined, or hurt while serving—and who are ready to be heard. Founded by Natasha Hilbers, an Australian Army Veteran with 12 years of service, this movement is deeply personal. Natasha’s military lineage runs generations deep, tracing back to the Bugler of Gallipoli—a legacy of duty, courage, and service that has shaped her identity and commitment to country. But service didn’t end with discharge. It evolved. After enduring weaponised administrative abuse and institutional betrayal, Natasha channelled her experience into something greater: being of service after service. She Served AU was created as a safe place where women could speak truth to power, connect with one another, and push for meaningful cultural change within the ADF and beyond. We believe no one should walk the hard path alone. We believe in breaking the silence. We believe in honouring our stories—because they matter.
