Shropshire Union Canal Society

The Shropshire Union Canal Society is a voluntary body dedicated to the promotion, enhancement and restoration of the Shropshire Union canal network for the benefit of all users. The historic network stretches in the east from the Midlands to the Mersey. In the west it reaches into north and mid Wales via the Llangollen and Montgomery Canals. Our restoration work is opening up the dry section of the Montgomery Canal in Shropshire, providing an amenity for all and linking the Welsh section with the national network. Following the award winning project to Crickheath completed in 2022 our new project continues southwards for ½ mile towards the watered section at Llanymynech. We operate as principal contractors to the Canal & River Trust.
