Simpa sells solar-as-a-service to energy poor households and micro-enterprises that lack access to electricity in rural areas. Simpa helps its customers transform a daily expenditure for energy into ownership of a valuable asset using our innovative solar leasing model called 'Progressive Purchase'. Customers make a small initial payment to get a high-quality solar PV system installed. Using pay-as-you-go approach (PAYG), each subsequent payment for the energy service also contributes towards the final purchase price. Once fully paid, the system unlocks permanently and delivers free solar energy for years. Simpa's model is enabled by its patented metering technology, deep rural sales reach and attractive customer financing. This business model is disruptive and highly scalable, re-imagining the value chain for delivering energy access at the base of the economic pyramid.
